We have hardly ever experinced that the events and competitions start so early as they are doing this year. Maybe one of the reasons is that if feels like we never had a "real" season last year since the horse disease started early and most of the competitions, shows and clinics were cancelled. If you are travelling to Iceland it is always nice to be able to go and see some horses in action. Some of the interesting events I have listed here below but note that at most of the open clinics the teacher is speaking Icelandic.

January:
15th - Clinic with Sigurbjörn Bárðarson ( Diddi) at the ridinghall in Hella
15th- Clininc with Mette Mannseth in the ridinghall in Borganes
16th - Sales show at Hestheimar - close to the farm Skeiðvellir
27th - Meistaradeildin - Indoor competition with many of the best riders in Iceland. Takes place in the evening in the ridinghall at Ingólfshvoli. This evening there is a competiton in fourgait.
February:
19th - FT show in the ridinghall in Reykjavík. FT
24th - Meistaradeildin - Indoor competition with many of the best riders in Iceland. Takes place in the evening in the ridinghall at Ingólfshvoli. This evening there is a competition in tölt.
26th - Ístölt in the east of Iceland. A bit far to drive but this outdoor competition on Ice popular. Possible to fly there and see some different part of Iceland.
March:
10th - Meistaradeildin - Indoor competition with many of the best riders in Iceland. Takes place in the evening in the ridinghall at Ingólfshvoli. This evening there is a competition in fivegait.
12th - Svellkalldar konur - A indoor competiton on Ice in Reykjavík only for women.
19th - Stjörnutölt - Indoor competition on Ice in Akureyri
26th - Orri tribute in the ridinghall at Ingólfshvol
