We live on the farm horsebreeding farm Skeiðvellir in south Iceland. The farm is owned by Sigurður Sæmundsson, often called Siggi Sæm, Lisbeth Sæmundsson and Siggi´s brother Viðar Sæmundsson. I am the daugther of Siggi and Lisbeth, and me and Davíð Jónsson have two children, Sigurður Smári, 12 years old and Guðlaug Birta, 4 years old.
After my parents have lived at Holtsmúli for 25 years they decided to build a new farm. The result of that is the farm Skeiðvellir, a farm built up 2007 and it has among the best training facilities in Iceland. Big riding hall, new stable with 38 boxes and four living houses. The farm is around 350 hektars and there are around 150 horses at the farm.
The farm is located close to Hella ( 15 km) and it takes about 1 hour and 15 minutes to drive to the farm from Reykjavík.
We both have worked with horses for many years and have been riding since we were children. I have also worked for many years in the tourism buisness and now with our company Ice Events that offers various tours and seminars. Davíð is one of the horsetrainers at Skeiðvellir and also her is a farrier.
We also offer the whole year around horses for sale and our goal is to provide a personal service for our customers when they are looking for the dreamhorse in Iceland.
