Suggestion for seminar at Skeiðvellir
Here you can see how the seminar usually are at Skeiðvellir. Please note that any changes can be made upon request for each group so this is not a final program.
The group arrives in the evening day before the seminar starts. They will reveive a welcome drink and dinner in the evening. After the dinner we show you the accommodation at Skeiðvellir in the guesthouse and the apartment in the stable if the group is big (only 500 meters walk between the house and the stable). In the guesthouse there are is space for 8 persons in 3 rooms and in the apartment in the stable there are also 2 rooms and space for 4 persons. All dining ( breakfast – lunch- coffee and dinner) will be at the stable in the coffeeroom there.
The participants ride twice a day, before and after lunch, 1 or 2 together in the riding hall and we also use the ovalban outside (weather depending). The last day the participants ride once in a longer lession. The teaching will be based on what you are aming for to learn. Horses available for the seminar are based on the riding experience of the riders. In the selection of horses on the farm we have good experienced competitionhorses and also horses that are starting on the competition track, and we also have acces to normal ridingschool horses upon request.
The teacher that we use is Snorri Dal – a experienced and well known rider in Iceland. The winner of B flokkur in Landsmót 2006 and Icelandic champion several times but most important, very relaxed and has good humor because the goal is of course to mix fun and teaching. Note that we also have selection of other teachers available if the group has any other request.

Program day by day
Arrival day (Thursday)
You rent a car at the airport and drive to Skeiðvellir – it is popular to make a stop in Reykjavík first at the ridingtack shops for example Top Reiter or Ástund. When you arrive at Skeiðvellir we will show you the accommodation and then you will have dinner in the evening in the „stable“ . We will talk a little about your riding experience and what your expetations are for the seminar. It is also good to send a short description from everyone about their riding experience so that we are able to sort out the right horses for the seminar.

12:15 – 13:00 – lunch – soup – salat – bread – coffee
13:00 – 16:00 – Seminar
16:00 – coffee and refreshments
16:00 – 19:30 – Time off. Possbile to visit the handcraft center in Hella, drive to Selfoss to the horsetagshop Baldvin og Þorvaldur or just relax, take a bath in the hot tub at my veranda. (ca 500 meters from the guest house)
19:30 – Dinner „a la Katrin“ in the stable
